Description:  The older the reader, the more can be recalled of the time when children were allowed to explore and find their own way to amuse themselves.  Especially, they were allowed to learn how to solve their own problems and be creative, thus becoming adults at an early age.  This book is a collection of stories from the experience of the authors who grew up in rural Michigan in the 1940s and 1950s.
The four kids are the authors and their cousins.
